Hmm I'm glad I didnt spend any cash on my sin.
I can already see a thread created where everyone will post the name of their sin which they deleted after the nerf.

The only people who complain about nerfs to OP stuff are the people who can't think for themselves and just copy the build off PvX.
Everybody will moan and complain about SF being nerfed. Some people may even quit. But the majority who do will eventually come back because thy enjoy the game (and not just SF), and want their phat loot. By then, players who actually have a brain will have developed the next new super farm/build, and all the sheep will return to doing that and thinking they are leet because of it.
@Cobalt: Nobody... and I mean nobody, doesn't buy a game he's never played before because a skill he has never heard of gets nerfed. If anything, SF has increased the number of sales of games for A.net. After all, in order to run it, you need to have skills from multiple games.
You are the exact kind of player that SF and other stuff is catered too, and the kind of player guru doesn't want.

I have a sf perma char for event drops only not UW or them places
But WHO CARES aren't we all deserting GW1 when GW2 comes out.
Nothing in GW1 will be worth anything including the super rare minis and right down to ectos used to buy them.
Just hope they learn from GW1 and don't make the same mistakes in GW2... yeah right. lol

Thank you, and thank all the other people who realize that Sins are much more than permanent maintenance of Shadow Form.
This post will be ignored, because every time I say something about it it's ignored, but I'll try yet again anyway.
When I first made my Assassin, I was poking around for builds and messing with elites and discovered the permanent Shadow Form combination. This is before the release of GW:EN even. Using that and a crappy dagger chain, I was able to solo a few bosses and run through quite a bit. Eventually, I found the Radiation Field, Ether Nightmare, Cry of Pain, Channeling version and was able to pretty effectively solo the Chamber in UW. No one from Guru believed me (List your favorite farming build? Perma? Nah it sucks.). No one from even my guild believed me until I convinced them to SS for me and saw how well it worked. At this point (now after the release of GW:EN, obviously), the Planes farm with the A/Me build close to what I had been using sprung up. Go look up the thread. STILL nobody jumped on it.
It wasn't until the PvP/PvE split for Shadow Form that it became an issue. With the buff, A/E came along, allowing about a billion more options. What's even funnier is that nobody I showed the A/Me variant to could ever run it. Yes, it took more skill to run the original perma than most other farming builds out there. It depended on precision timing, knowledge of mobs, and proper placement for energy management. No one could seem to figure it out. Heck, even today's Chambers use Essences so they don't have to mess with watching the recharge. It was the 1-2-3 on recharge A/E variant that became popular because it was easy.
Slowly we got to where we are now, with perma being a huge issue. Let it be known that I haven't used the skill in probably 3-4 months, and guess what, my Assassin still functions extremely well. To all the Sin haters out there: just like with Shadow Form, you can shut your mouth until you've tried it. Don't base your opinions off what you hear in-game from the lamers in Kamadan arguing about Assassins sucking without SF. Your ignorance is no excuse for your constant assault on the profession. In fact, it's an excellent defense against your assault.
Long story short: you're an idiot if you delete your Assassin when/if Shadow Form gets nerfed, and quite frankly, you're an idiot if you think they're worthless without it.
[sarcasm]I will delete my Monk though if 600/Smite gets nerfed. They're super pointless without it.[/sarcasm]

Agreed. My assassin was the first character I really played with. I never even tried out SF until a few months ago.
And I hate it. It's extremely boring, and I also found it very slow (I tried it again this past week farming to get Nick gifts. Took forever).
But then again, I'm also one of those weirdos that ran a scythe build on my 'sin and didn't like that either Daggers for me, please. I'll play it the way the profession is meant to be played.

About damn time.
Technically, 600 probably deserves a nerf too, but that's never going to happen, so, you know.
Just don't forget about ER and dervishes, Anet. Those need to be fixed, too.

Its kinda hard to keep somethings soloable when nerfing skills that make it so. They probably will make the area harder. Like what they did to the chaos plains way back when they used to melee.

just cause SF is removed doesn't mean things will change that much. you'll just see a lot more monks farming. rangers, mesmers, dervs, paras you can all hold your breath because you're still not going to find 'balanced' grps. dungeons, missions, quests will still be run, because its faster then hacking it in some pug grp. the game has matured too far to have people forming up often for 'balanced' clears

Pain Inverter damage is dealt before Protective Spirit is calculated. It works like a charm, and doesn't require the player to know the pattern the trappers use Healing Spring in.
Assassin was also my first, character, and I never used Shadow Form until about a year ago. I had a great time ganking priority targets and doing more than select+space.

Whatever solution ANet adopts to exploits such as UWSC speed clears will cast its shadow on GW2; so they must be careful how they deal with this exploit. ANet really does not need more negative nerf buzz among the general player populace right now. Oh, I do agree there is a problem; it is just a much bigger problem than it looks like.

I hope they either change the skill completely, or simply nerf it's use in high end PvE. I don't mind SF being used for farming, esspecially with buffs to some skills (hundred blades) making many things that were farmable, unfarmable with SF.
I'd really like to see it changed completely though. I can live with not being able to farm with SF on my sin.

I don't see why people are complaining, the death of one farming build only spawns another more powerful one. :/
Shadowform might die and there's nothing that's going to stop it happening, so quit whining and find another use for your assassin. It's not that hard. :]

That post is so full of fail. It was already prevalent and already an issue.
If they do change it, it'll be after GW2 is out.

I hope they completely change the skill. It is abused in many situations - being able to run through dungeons is ridiculous as well. Solo'ing Slavers? I understand that dungeons can take a bit of time without a runner (boo hoo?) but if you have a good balanced team it can go pretty fast.
And the UWSC is just dumb.
